How To Install Windows 10 From Dvd In Lenovo Laptop
Hi,
Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.
We understand the concern as you are trying to install and upgrade to Windows 10. In this case we checked the Lenovo B570 model on Lenovo website and found the hardware driver available for Windows 8.1/8/7/Vista/XP. As there are no Tested/available drivers to support Windows 10, could be a reason for such issue.
In order to get clarity and to assist you accordingly, please reply with the answers to the questions below:
- What is the Version and Edition of Windows installed on the PC? (Type winver in Windows search/Run command)
- Are you performing a clean/fresh installation on the PC?
- Do you have a Windows 10 license key?
However, if you still insist to upgrade the PC to Windows 10, then we would suggest you to perform a Software and Hardware clean boot and then try to upgrade to Windows 10.
Put the PC in software clean boot, refer the article How to perform a clean boot in Windows . A 'clean boot' starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs.
Note: After you finish troubleshooting, follow the section Reset the computer to start normally after clean boot troubleshooting to reset the computer to start normally.
Steps to perform hardware clean boot.
- Press Windows key + R . This will open Run . Alternatively, you can go to Start and search for Run .
- In Run dialog box, type devmgmt.msc and hit Enter .
- Now expand the Display adapters , Printers , Sound, video and game controllers .
- Now right click on the listed devices inside the section and click on Disable .
- If asked for restart click on restart later .
- Close the device manager window and then restart the PC.
Once the above steps performed, then we would recommend you to download Windows 10 2004 version installation media (ISO) using the media creation tool on the desktop of the PC and then refer this article by PaulSey to run an in-place upgrade .
Note: Please backup your important data that are saved in C drive to any other local drive or external drive before performing In-place upgrade.
Let us know the results. If the issue persists, we will certainly assist you further.
Aditya Roy

i think media stick is created such a way, is must be from not from uefi.
now your hdd partition type is GPT and formatted with ntfs correct.
use your friend computer, download windows 10 20h2 iso file from Microsoft official website,
use Rufus software, set UEFI mode, create windows bootable USB pendrive.
boot with that pendrive, install windows

I think perhaps I was not clear enough with my cry for help. yes i have a legal product key and the version I was attempting to install was the latest win 10 ver 20H2 build 19042.685. which I had on DVD and also using the Media Creation Tool I produced a flash drive (memory stick).
But because the hard drive had failed I did not have a working operating system, all I could do was change the boot sequence and try to install.
Although I do not understand why or how, I eventually managed to install win10 however I had not got a working keyboard, no key would function even the "F" keys failed, the Mouse continued to work and I was able to sign in using the "on screen keyboard", which I was also able to use to do all the normal checks . Device Manager was showing that windows had been unable to install the keyboard driver and would not update the driver. Since the machine worked perfectly on the previous version of windows I looked for a driver on the Lonovo site and had them run a auto check of my system, all this failed. I then thought that I would go to the Microsoft site and try to download the previous version of windows that had worked fine, I could only find the latest version.
I eventually found an old driver from MS dated 21.06.2006 ver 10.0.19041.1 and installed it. This has given me back MOST of the keyboard but none of the "F" keys work, so I am unable to even get to bios.
My current position is Windows appears to be working fine But none of the "F" keys work at all so kb driver is is not quite correct.
In your reply you suggested down loading and installing Windows 10 2004 , This sounds good except that I will need exact details of how to do this as I can't find it, or where to get a suitable KB driver please recommend a version . Thank You for trying to help

Are there any drivers from Lenovo. Have you ever spilt anything on the keyboard?
